DEJOUR ENDORSES: COLOR BLOCKING
Color blocking is in. Just ask Herve Leger. Lots of classic items are being cut up and reinterpreted by some of my favorite modern brands. From the perfect length Opening Ceremony swim trunks, to the Visvim version of an oxford shirt to my favortie of the bunch, the Patrick Ervell polo shirt. Polo shirts are pretty boring and I’m not a fan of logos but this one is awesome with its subdued pastel color scheme. By the way I’m really feeling pastels in the summer, but that’s a whole other post.

PEDRO “BUSY P” WINTER

We sat down with Pedro “Busy P” Winter, the man beind the label changing the tastes of music snobs all over the world. Pedro talks to us about the trials and tribulations of getting women to show him their breasts, managing Daft Punk and insists that he is just in it for the music. By Gabrielle Swan and Kyle Morrison. Read more
THE SKULLSET
After years and years worth of overblown photobloggery, very few sites stand on their own. New York via LA’s Jack Siegel keeps us interested time and time again. Maybe it is because he works exclusively with point-and-shoot film cameras. Maybe it is because he is a nice guy, at least on the surface. Take a look at some of his work and you figure it out. BUY THIS AND BOOK AND PRETEND MR. LONELY IS SO PREDICTABLE
You can now be a huge pretentious snob if you buy this book from one of my favorite publishers, Nieves and read the script to Mister Lonely before you see it and then tell your friends you have already figured it out. Anyways, its the first in their Paperback series and I dig Neives and I dig Harmony, so check it out.

COMME DES GARCONS FOR H&M

Just got the press release this morning and I’m pretty excited. I just mentioned how happy I was with how the Tim Hamilton stuff for Uniqlo turned out so I am expecting good things for this. They are doing mens too plus, kids and a unisex fragrance. I love CDG (more specifically the Play, Shirt and Junya stuff) but I’m sure Rei will come up with some wearable stuff since it is H&M… Never been impressed before by their designer collections, but maybe that has something to do with the designers… Coming out in the fall, so we’ve got a while to go.
WIN A SIGNED COPY OF MGMT’S ORACULAR SPECTACULAR ON VINYL!

I’ve been playing this album (no, not this exact copy) on repeat for the past little while and now here is your chance to get your hand’s on a signed copy on vinyl.
RYAN MCGINLEY’S NEW SHOW

Ryan’s new show, I Know Where The Summer Goes, opens tomorrow.
“The title of this exhibition, taken from an early B-side by Belle & Sebastian, is more than just a piece of poetic musing. McGinley does, in fact, know where his summers go. In the summer of 2007, for example, he traversed the United States with sixteen models and three assistants, shooting 4,000 rolls of film. From the resulting 150,000 photographs, he arduously narrowed down the body of work to some fifty images, the best of which are on display here at the gallery.”

HAPPY PEOPLE
I’m really digging everything about this brand Happy People, from Sweden. In fact i’m digging a lot of stuff coming out of Sweden these days. This lookbook even reminds me of another one of my favorite brands that has been getting a lot of attention as of late, Our Legacy even down to the rolled chinos. (I need to get a pair.) This stuff is like causual, lounge wear, but well designed with solid graphic and well cut silhouettes.
TIM HAMILTON FOR UNIQLO

There was a bunch of coverage online about the Tim Hamilton for Uniqlo stuff, but now that things have settled down, I had some time to give you a closer look at what I got my hands on. I happened to be there on the release in Manhattan and when I got there in the afternoon there was still a lot of stuff, but not to much in my size (small, I guess all the guys who are into Tim are slim guys. Apparently these collaborations go quick.) I know a lot of guys who like Tim, but his stuff is pretty expensive so this is a nice way to get our hands on his designs. I picked up an amazing club collar chambray shirt in red and a cool reversible jacket. There were also some hoodies and another solid jacket as well as some chinos. I’m excited to see what the Loden Dager for Uniqlo stuff looks like when it comes out.
