MAX WHITNEY OF DARK HOUSE OF WHITNEY

Maximillian Whitney has always had a fascination with horror films. With the recent launch of his new company, Dark House of Whitney, Max, along with his father, have written several scripts within the past few years and have an upcoming script underway taking place in New York. After ditching a career in the jewelry business and making an attempt to concentrate full-heartedly on his first passion, Whitney has a new website which will seek to disclose and discuss urban legends that take place within the confines of New York City. Take a look below. By Yale Breslin.
ZISSOU HATS
Wes Anderson makes some pretty stylish movies, but the last one you think to take style inspiration from would be The Life Aquatic (featuring my friend Waris), but that’s not the case. I was at a party this weekend and a friend was wearing a red hat, much in the style of Steve Zissou. I mentioned it to him, and he didn’t even think of the connection, but that was the first thing I thought of. I like the look as it goes well with all the sombre colors of fall. Ryan from h(y)r collective mentioned this a bit a go and and showed you one from one of my favorite brands, Our Legacy. Another brand I like, and showed you last seasons collection, Happy People also from Sweden is doing a hat in blue and orange (instead of red) and is calling it the Zissou Hat. I think Ryan might be right on this though, the place to get one is definitely a work-wear type store. Pictured below, on the set of the Happy People lookbook shoot.
PATRICK O’DELL SPEAKS
My friends at Studio have put together a short video featuring Patrick O’Dell speaking about some of his photos in his first solo show “To All My Friends”.
ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDERSTERN ARE UNDEAD

If you’ve recently seen David Slade’s arctic blood bath, 30 Days of Night, you may be in the mood for a vampire themed movie with a little more class, for vampires you’d actually want to go out with for a drink – maybe a bite. If that’s the case, you’ll want to check out Joradan Galland’s eclectic brainchild, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead, which somehow combines Shakespeare, Vampires, and a quest for the Holy Grail in a modern-day setting. “How,” you may rightly ask? We sat down Galland, to get the skinny. By Lars Bohr
BUY THIS AND BOOK AND PRETEND MR. LONELY IS SO PREDICTABLE
You can now be a huge pretentious snob if you buy this book from one of my favorite publishers, Nieves and read the script to Mister Lonely before you see it and then tell your friends you have already figured it out. Anyways, its the first in their Paperback series and I dig Neives and I dig Harmony, so check it out.

PERVERTED JEW SUES PERVERTED JEW

Woody Allen is suing Dov Charney of American Apparel for using an unauthorized photo of him from Annie Hall to peddel his sweatshop free basics.
WOODY ALLEN WILL NOT HAVE YOU MAKE A SKINNY HIPSTER OUT OF HIM (RADAR)
HOUSE OF WARIS

You may have seen him featured in films along side Jason Schwartzman or Denzel Washington, or you may have even purchased some of his jewlery. If you don’t know Waris Ahluwalia, you will soon. Get to know Waris as he talks about his unexpected career paths and all his (insert ethnicty here) friends. By Kyle Morrison

ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE UNDEAD

All the music is done by (John and Yoko’s son) Sean Lennon. The trailer was just released and we have it for you below. Enjoy.
THE DARJEELING LIMITED SHIRT by APC

You will almost never not see me in my APC jeans, so I guess you can say I’m a big fan of the brand. I’m also a big fan of Wes Anderson and The Darjeeling Limited. Not necessarily a shirt I would wear/buy, but I think it is a cool idea. Another APC I do in fact like is the House of Waris shirt they produced - I dug this shirt way before I knew that House of Waris was the Waris Ahluwalia’s jewelry brand, but thought the typography was cool - still can’t manage to find a picture of it, but it’s currently at the NY APC store.
